Band Ladies
Band Ladies is a web series about 5 disenchanted women turn who their book club into a punk rock band, 20 years too late.
When a video of their first performance makes the news, the heroines are forced to become more badass than they bargained for. The series follows them as they are launched into a music career where they discover true friendship, three chord progression and an inner strength no one thought they had, least of all themselves.
But despite all of the challenges they face, the Band Ladies discover that ‘it’s never too late to reinvent yourself’.
Our production company, Moon Astronaut Studios, produced a 2-minutes teaser for the 2019 Independent Production Fund (IPF) campaign. It was entirely self financed by the creators (Molly Flood, Kate Fenton and Dana Puddicombe)
We received funding from both the Independent Production Fund and Bell Fund along with federal and provincial tax credits for the production of Season One. Band Ladies Season One is now available on Highball.TV and Amazon Prime US/UK.
